Ginger Turmeric Wellness Shots (No Juicer Needed!)

Ginger is a powerhouse ingredient in my kitchen. Aside from being a huge flavor booster, ginger can help boost your immune system, improve indigestion, soothe nausea, and it is a powerful inflammatory agent. I love to keep these shots on hand, and prefer to consume them first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, or before and after meals to help aid digestion.

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 2 minutes

Total Time: 12 minutes

Yield: 2 shots with excess to store in fridge.

Ingredients:

  • Large knob of Ginger, peeled and minced

  • Juice from 3 Lemons

  • 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper

  • 1/8 teaspoon Freshly Ground Black Pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric Powder or Fresh Knob, peeled and minced

  • Splash of Filtered Water

  • 1 teaspoon Honey (can sub maple syrup to keep it vegan)

  • 1/2 of one Orange, cut into slices (to serve with)

Directions:

  1. Place all ingredients except orange slices into a high-speed blender until smooth.

  2. Optional: Strain through a mesh sieve.

  3. Pour into shot glasses and serve with an orange slice as a “chaser”.

Store excess in a small mason jar in the fridge or other tightly sealed container.
